Inner Dialogue
Body language isn’t just movement-It’s the quiet inner world before your emotions rise, your body delivers the first message an inner dialogue of tension, tingles, and an array of sensations.
Body language what does that really mean? To me, it’s the incredible way our soul, higher self, intuition — whatever name you choose — communicates its needs. It’s astonishing how it tries to grab our attention, urging us toward a change, a release, a reset, or outside support.
Experiences create thoughts. Thoughts create energetically charged emotions. And when those emotions aren’t honored, processed, or transformed, where do they go? Have you ever truly considered that? Do you pay attention to the sensations your body offers you daily? Sometimes they’re subtle, annoying, or uncomfortable. Sometimes they’re powerful enough to demand your immediate attention.
This is the soul’s language — guiding us toward what needs to be witnessed, reclaimed, protected, rebuilt, or integrated. It’s a form of communication designed to help you achieve optimal well‑being of the mind, body, and spirit.
Here are just a few examples you may recognize:
Tight chest — can signal fear, anxiety, worry, or anticipation.
Unable to speak your true feelings — the body tenses, sensations rise.
A knowing that something is off — may show up as sickness, imbalance, or disease.
When your inner being is divided or conflicted — perhaps between fear and intuition, or duty and desire — your body may respond with fatigue. You might feel tension when resisting your own inner truth or the reality of your current life. Unresolved grief can settle as a general heaviness. In these moments, your body becomes a barometer for inner coherence.
On the lighter side, when you come into alignment — expanding, awakening, and deepening your awareness — your body may respond with heightened sensitivity, surges of energy, or a craving for solitude and quiet. You may feel lighter, more open, especially through the chest and spine.
It’s said that the body can hold memories the mind has forgotten — especially the heart. How does that show up? Maybe a flinch when a certain topic arises, or a tightening around familiar negative pattern. Extra weight can act as protection. PTSD may express itself as an inner dialogue of confusion, fear, or emotions struggling to be understood.
I’m sure every one of you reading this has experienced some of these signals. The question is: Did you pay attention? Whether physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental — did you listen, or did you dismiss them?
There are countless stories of survival because someone listened to their (gut), and countless stories of success because something simply (felt) right. You found the right person or the right direction because you followed that persistent tug that wouldn’t go away. And it doesn’t stop there — your body continually offers hints about what it’s yearning for: desired change, needed growth, unhealthy patterns, and encouragement toward becoming the greatest version of yourself.
You have a direct line to the most accurate information about every aspect of your being. Don’t ignore it. Embrace it. Pay attention. Trust it. Act on those sensations and feelings. You may be surprised by how much healthier, calmer, and clearer your life becomes. I, for one, have come to deeply appreciate and feel sincere gratitude for that inner dialogue. It has enriched my life in the most incredible ways — and I hope it will enrich yours too.
May your inner dialogue become a trusted companion, leading you toward healing, expansion, and the most luminous version of your life.
Blessings, Lisa
