Welcome to the Bright Side
In a world that often feels heavy let’s choose light. Each week, I will share stories of kindness, courage, and quiet triumphs-reminders that compassion still moves mountains and small deeds ripple outward. This is your weekly dose of hope. A place where goodness is noticed, celebrated, and carried forward.
Paying It Forward
“Kindness Is a Seed of Love”
“Paying it forward” originated from Lily Hardy Hammond’s in 1916 book “In the Garden of Delight,” where she expressed that one should repay kindness rather than the original benefactor. I have always loved this phrase and the idea of what it represents. It creates a shift from reciprocity to generosity keeping the goodness flowing. If you have ever been on the receiving end, you know what a warm fuzzy beautiful feeling it sends straight to the heart. Science says that acts of kindness activate the brain in such a way that it is highly likely you will continue the chain of kindness. I think most people are spontaneous and think nothing of the gift they just gave someone. It does not matter if it is big or little the impact is the same. To all of you beautiful people out there that have generously paid for that coffee, meal, or ticket. For those who offer your time to run errands or give someone a ride. For all those quiet invisible acts of care Thank you. ‘I say let’s keep these acts as a renewable source.”
Bright side-Good Deeds for the Week
“Unknown name” Bought a returning soldier and his entire family’s breakfast.
70-year-old gentlemen on Social Security saves his money to buy wheelchairs, and walkers to donate to those in need.
“S” donated a carload of goodies (beds, blankets, toys, food) to the local animal shelter.
This week I would like to propose a three-day challenge to create more love and warmth in the world.
Day one- give a total stranger a compliment.
Day two- Leave an uplifting note somewhere in a public place trusting that it will be found by the one who needs it most.
Day three-Offer your full presence to someone for a few moments. (What a gift)
