Welcome to the Bright Side
In a world that often feels heavy let’s choose light. Each week, I will share stories of kindness, courage, and quiet triumphs-reminders that compassion still moves mountains and small deeds ripple outward. This is your weekly dose of hope. A place where goodness is noticed, celebrated, and carried forward.
Real People- Real Kindness- Real Impact
We have amongst us those special people whom some would call heroes, some may call them Angles, I am going to call them extraordinary. These are the ones who show up time and time again, not because they have too but because they want to. These are the ones who put the needs of others above their own. These are the ones who give their time freely for no other reason than compassion. Compassion for others and a willingness to help. They don’t ask for money, they don’t ask for recognition, they don’t even ask for a thank you. If you have not guessed I am speaking of our volunteers. I am speaking of the hospice volunteers, the meals on wheels volunteers, our fireman, our EMT’s, our animal volunteers, and the list goes on and on. They show up again, and again in the quiet corners of our communities where compassion is needed most.
I have met and personally know many and the one thing that always stands out to me is their love for what they do and why they do it. A hospice volunteer who brings a warm smile, warm hands and a kind presence. A fireman who shrugs when you say thank you and simply nods his head as if he didn’t just give everything, he had to save your home. The EMT whom shows up bringing a calm efficient presence, so you can stop being afraid. The ones who save, nurture, and care for our precious animals. The meals on wheels deliver more than food, they offer nourishment of the heart and spirit.
These volunteers end up experiencing sadness, loneliness, loss, grief, fear, bewilderment and disbelief, yet they still show up. They bring hope, dignity, and comfort. Different roles. Different uniforms. Different stories, but they are all connected by one thing. Compassion that knows no boundaries. For the hands that lift. For the hearts that stay. For the courage that answers every call for help. we honor you
“May we notice the quiet heroes among us, and may their kindness inspire our own.”

Sunrise Thought
“Compassion grows in the smallest moments — a hand offered, a smile, a hug, a presence that says, ‘you’re not alone.’ Today, may we be brave enough to offer that kind of light.”
