Threads of Light and Love

In a world that often feels heavy let’s choose light. Each week, I will share stories of kindness, courage, and quiet triumphs-reminders that compassion still moves mountains and small deeds ripple outward. This is your weekly dose of hope. A place where goodness is noticed, celebrated, and carried forward.

                                                               Threads of Light and Love

“Some acts of kindness are stitched from the heart”

Could you ever imagine that a sewing machine, a wedding dress and a lady with a heart of gold could impact countless lives across out great country in such a profound way? This week I want to honor a very special lady who has given quite literally thousands of hours to sewing loads of Angel gowns, and NICU Graduation gowns, caps, and blankets. All have been created from donated wedding dresses. Her selfless hours and patience of taking these dresses apart and restructuring them into beautiful little gowns of hope, love, and remembrance is truly a labor of love.

She has been wholeheartedly committed to this foundation for 8 years now, putting in at least 40 hours each week, and often more. She loves what this foundation stands for and is honored to be a part of such loving work. She remains ever humbled to share her passion for sewing in such a beautiful way. In her hands, a wedding dress becomes more than just fabric, it becomes an offer of celebration, blessings, and honoring. To devote this kind of time, energy, and commitment is a rare and special kind of compassion. So today, we salute you, “L” and all you other compassionate sewist out there who contribute to such a magnificent cause.

For anyone who may want more info or to donate their wedding dress, order a keepsake, or something special here is a link to the Emma & Evans Foundation. Check out the pictures at the end.    https://www.evefoundation.org

Bright side-Good Deeds for the Week

A Rescue squad was responding to a motor vehicle collision involving a driver who was delivering groceries for an Instacart customer. The driver was thankfully uninjured, but their vehicle was damaged and waiting for a tow, leaving the delivery unfinished.

Without hesitation, the Rescue 66 crew stepped in, gathered the groceries, and completed the delivery themselves. It was a small gesture that made a big difference for a grateful community member and a reminder that serving our community sometimes means going beyond emergency response. (Reference today)
